Baked BBQ Beef Brisket
Serves 8
Ingredients:
4 lb beef brisket, fat trimmed
1 teaspoon onion salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon celery salt
1/2 cup barbecue sauce
2 tablespoons ketchup
1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
Directions:
In a small bowl, stir together onion salt, garlic powder and celery salt. Thoroughly rub mixture all over and into meat.
In another small bowl, stir together barbecue sauce, ketchup, liquid smoke and Worcestershire sauce.
Evenly brush barbecue sauce all over brisket. Wrap brisket in heavy-duty foil, place in a roasting pan, then chill for 8 hours.
Preheat oven to 300° F.
Bake brisket until a meat thermometer inserted in thickest portion registers 190° F, about 5 hours.
Let brisket stand for 10 minutes before cutting across the grain into thin slices.
